General Contractors must complete a Zoning Permit Application. No fee is required for this permit.

The general contractor (builder) must submit two (2) complete sets of plans to the Town’s Building Inspector for approval before any permits can be issued. Commercial builders must include all mechanicals. Plans are reviewed on Friday afternoons. Builders will be contacted by Town Hall when the plans are approved. Blythewood’s plan review fee is $25.00.

The Building Permit Application, available at Town Hall, must be completed by the General Contractor and include the job site’s Richland County 911 issued address. The building permit fee is based on the general contractor’s job cost and charged per the fee schedule in Ordinance 6.302

All general contactors and sub-contractors working in the Town of Blythewood must complete a base contractor’s business license for their first job in the calendar year. The license fee is stated on the application and is based on the job cost.

All general contactors and sub-contractors working in the Town of Blythewood must complete an add-on contractor’s business license after their first job in the calendar year. The license fee is stated on the application and is based on the job cost.

All electrical contactors working in the Town of Blythewood must complete an electrical permit for each job. There is no fee for this permit.

All plumbing contactors working in the Town of Blythewood must complete a plumbing permit for each job. There is no fee for this permit.

All HVAC contactors working in the Town of Blythewood must complete an HVAC permit for each job. There is no fee for this permit.
